Sharon Montrose's portraits of animals taken in a studio setting are fascinating because they are so different from the standard photographs you normally see of animals. Removed from their natural habitat and placed in front of a stark, white wall, these creatures seem even more beautiful and interesting. And, yes, they are real, live animals.

I love her style!
ReplyDeleteWhat I like about these is the vulnerability conveyed. Not sure if that's because the stark background makes us focus on the details - the frailties - of the animals, or if that background simply makes them look alone and helpless. Would be a great approach to publicizing endangered species.
