When I was younger I had a mask of a monkey's face that I loved so much I wore it to bed on more than one occasion. Pamela Klaffke gives that love of animal masks a surreal edge in her portraits of masked people and children. She also shoots exclusively with expired film and analogue film which gives her photos (none of which have been digitally altered) a feeling of something you might find in an old relative's house, their dirty little secret finally revealed.

I love the first one. SO different. :)
ReplyDeleteI love these. Especially that they aren't retouched and just look however the film makes them look. So funny that you used to sleep in a monkey mask too! My brother had a really scary monkey toy that I was petrified of!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on being newly married too :)
