Futorowoman Fotographie

Polaroid film may be a dying format but there are plenty of photographers doing their bit to keep the art of Polaroid photography alive. Futorowoman is one of those. She combines the faded, vintage feel that Polaroid film gives with subjects such as Blythe dolls, the American Southwest and city life to present a stunning collection that provides a compelling case for the rejuvenation of the Polaroid as a popular film format.

Rocky Top Studio

Today was the first 'proper' day of winter here- I woke up to a thick layer of frost covering every surface and a fine mist in the air. It reminded me of Alison Trentelman's photographs, many of which were taken in the middle of winter when that cold mist fills the air and turns everything pale.

Saturday Selection: The Wizard of Oz

Every Saturday I bring you a selection of photos that are united by a common theme. This year marks the 70th anniversary of the release of The Wizard of Oz and to celebrate I have a collection of photographs that make me think of Dorothy and co.

Tina Crespo

There is a stark quality to Tina Crespo's photographs that gives them the feeling of a crisp, winter morning. Her use of cool shades of blue make the pieces seem fresh and remind me of that wonderful feeling when the cold air hits you and fills your lungs with a clean, full sensation.

JenniPenni

Predominantly pastel colours mixed with the occasional flash of bright red or pink make up the majority of JenniPenni's work, creating beautiful portraits and dreamy scenes.

Jane Heller Photography

Jane Heller's work covers a wide variety of subjects from sexy pinup-style shots to photos of goats and baby chickens. Such a big range of themes could seem make some photographer's Etsy stores seem jumbled and cluttered, but Jane's capable hands (and eyes) mean that the collection really comes together and each piece seems to compliment the others.

Saturday Selection: The Raven

Every Saturday I bring you a selection of photos that are united by a common theme. This week, in celebration of Hallowe'en, I've collected some photos that remind me of my favourite spooky tale: The Raven by Edgar Allen Poe.

MKendall Photography

MKendall combines several photos to make beautiful, dreamworld creations that are surreal and charming. I had a really tough time narrowing down my favourites to just four for this post!

Sharon Montrose Photographs

Sharon Montrose's portraits of animals taken in a studio setting are fascinating because they are so different from the standard photographs you normally see of animals. Removed from their natural habitat and placed in front of a stark, white wall, these creatures seem even more beautiful and interesting. And, yes, they are real, live animals.

ValeriaH Photography

ValeriaH's photographs are lit naturally which give them a soft, understated and quiet feel. I have always had a love of photographs that favour natural light and these are a beautiful example of what photographers can do with what nature provides.
